Celebrity Speak

When a celeb takes to his or her blog to "clear the air," I almost always cringe. For the most part celebs do best when they're speaking lines someone else has written. Lindsay Lohan and her dad are blog-sparring again. *yawn* And Page Six gathered others. Check 'em out!

WHO needs a flack when boldfaces have their MySpace blogs? In 2008, a slew of them took to MySpace Celebrity to air their confessions, complaints and respond to criticism from fans, friends and even family. We've pulled together a list of the most provocative online pronouncements celebs have come out with this year.

* "I think she should have thought about what kind of press she was gonna get when she slept with her friend's famous father" - Brooke Hogan lashing out at former best friend Christiane Plante, after she confessed to having an affair with Hulk Hogan.

* "I must have somehow missed the part where my shoes cost a million [bleep]ing dollars and my 'choice' of footwear would be publicized nationwide. I honestly thought they were just sparkly shoes" - Diablo Cody ranting over reports she wore overpriced shoes to the Oscars.

* "Call me any name you want: arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, f - g . . . whatever you can think of. But never say I didn't give it my all" - egotistical Kanye West, fighting back against those who booed him at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

* "I am coming up on the seventh of my surgeries Monday. Today I finally was able to move all my fingers on my right hand" - Travis Barker updating fans on his progress after surviving a horrendous plane crash.

* "I've never cheated on a girlfriend. For those who have expressed concern over the '27 second phone call' . . . phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk" - Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, responding to rumors that he broke up with Taylor Swift over the phone.

* "When people started telling me about MySpace, I thought it was a storage facility in The Bronx" - New Yorker to the core Martin Scorsese explaining his choice to get online.
