Josh Brolin Sorry For Crowe Comment

You know, I can almost see Josh Brolin calling Russell Crowe an asshole in jest. Especially because alot of people think Josh is an asshole himself.

Josh Brolin has publicly apologized to Russell Crowe - after he jokingly called the Aussie actor "an a**hole" at the New York Film Critics Awards on Monday night.

Brolin - who stars alongside Sean Penn in new movie Milk - stole the show with his vulgar comments about his American Gangster co-star Crowe.

After Penn introduced him on to the stage at the glitzy bash, Brolin said, "Quite the actor, that Sean Penn. He's not an a**hole like Russell Crowe."

But Josh has now backtracked on his vulgarities - blaming his alcohol intake and the "ambiance" of the prizegiving for what he said to the audience.

He told reporters, "It was the ambiance of the room. I love him [Crowe]. I think he’s amazing. He’s a friend. I was bummed out when I saw that today."

ANNE Hathaway doesn't always act like such a good girl. Monday night, the star stopped by Tiffany for the "Bride Wars" premiere bash, but quickly ran off to party with more privacy. While Kristen Wig, Dina Lohan and Damien Fahey mingled about the jewelry mecca, Hathaway was spotted by one of our spies "smoking cigarettes and playing pool" at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar. Harvey Weinstein was also there with Sean Penn and Josh Brolin, who "were surrounded by girls and loving every second of it," said our source.

Brolin ripped Russell Crowe, who co-starred with him in "American Gangster." Praising Sean Penn in "Milk," he growled, "Quite an actor Sean Penn . . . Amazing. Not an asshole like Russell Crowe."
