Mariah Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, has taken to his blog to fight back against rumors that he's having trouble paying for his diva wife's engagement ring.

"It was this craziness about me being broke and being sued by my jeweler! Ridiculous! I just got like three new major multi-million dollar deals in the last two months. And I ain't even finish yet... But now I'm broke, okay!

"Where do these people get this stuff? First off, I wish my wife's ring did only cost $500,000, that would have been a deal!

"Do your research and you will see how much I really paid for it. When my wife and I first got married people were lying and saying the ring was used or that I re-gifted it! So after we cleared that up, almost a year later they come with some more ring drama.

"I would spend every last dime that I have ever made on my wife, she deserves to be showered with extraordinary gifts and as long as I live I will spend all my money on her and never touch a dime of hers."

Riiiiight.

Meanwhile, Carey ex Sean Combs is said to be upset that he wasn't invited to perform at official events and disappointed that Jay-Z had a bigger presence. A rep for Carey declined to comment. Combs' rep said, "It was one of the greatest moments of his life. Sean was invited to the inauguration and was seated third row, with Jay-Z, at the ceremony."

OF COURSE Mariah Carey is pregnant. She's had so much fun toting her dog Jack around. Imagine the fun she'll have with a real-life baby!

MARIAH Carey (above) is definitely pregnant, according to sources on St. Barts, where the zaftig songbird just arrived from Aspen.

We reported Dec. 9 that Carey had emerged from a well-known ob/gyn's office on North Crescent Boulevard in LA, "clutching what looked like a sonogram and being greeted by her entourage with cheers." Now we're hearing Carey, who married Nick Cannon in the Bahamas earlier this year, tipped off her expectant state when she cut down her strenuous fitness regimen.

Things are going strong with Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. I love how Page Six starts this articly by saying "skeptics said it wouldn't last" and then goes on to say that they're "chugging happily along." WOW! How impressive! It's been, what? 6 whole months?! I guess that's long enough to deem this union a success. Heck, they could split any time now and we'll all look back on it as them really stickin' it out! Like cookies n' milk, ya'll.

When Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey made their first public appearance as newlyweds on Thursday, the pair simply dazzled – almost as much as their wedding jewelry.

Carey, who attended TIME magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" gala with her new husband, showed off her impressive pink diamond sparkler from of Jacob & Co. jewelers. The ring, valued at a whopping $2.5 million, is 17 carats. The center stone alone is 10-carats – a little smaller than a dime.

"I wanted to do something extremely special, something that Mariah would really appreciate," Cannon told PEOPLE. "We got the pinkest stone we could find, surrounded by other diamonds."

Carey definitely approved. "It's so clear, you can see my finger through it," she said.

According to Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co., Cannon "was very involved," in picking the ring, which has an emerald-cut fancy light pink center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds, flanked by two half-moon diamonds.

"The way he came into the store, I knew this was very serious," Arabo told PEOPLE. "He said, 'Jacob, I’m in love. This is what I want to do.'"

Meanwhile, Cannon's ring would make Liberace proud. The elaborate, chunky diamond band made its debut Thursday as he was leaving his New York City hotel.

But while a diamond may be forever, the couple's new tattoos – his says "Mariah" across his shoulders, and hers reads "Mrs. Cannon" on the small of her back – will last a lifetime. "Rings and all that is special and exciting," said Cannon. "But to us, tattoos mean more than anything because it's something we never thought we'd do."

Plus, they're a lot harder to lose.

And the ‘Touch My Body’ singer’s new bling wowed fellow diners when she was spotted at New York’s trendy Waverly Inn.

A source said: “Nick has been besotted since he first met Mariah on a US TV show three years ago. Just before they got married, he got down on one knee again and gave her the pink diamond ring he’d had custom made. She was stunned and thrilled.”

The pair married in a small ceremony at Carey’s Bahamian estate last month. Mariah’s cousin, Shawn McDonald, reportedly walked her down the aisle.

The ‘Touch My Body’ singer, 38, married beau Nick Cannon in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas on April 30, and are only now showing off their wedding snaps.

“We really do feel we are soulmates,” Carey tells People magazine in its latest issue. “I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me.”

Cannon adds: “She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside.”

The pair wed in a small ceremony at Carey’s Bahamian estate last month. Mariah’s cousin, Shawn McDonald, reportedly walked her down the aisle.

Well, it looks like Mariah Carey's surprise marriage to Nick Cannon is legal! And it also seems as though Mariah's ring is not Selita's ring. Selita's ring was 12 carats. Mariah's is 17. Do we think that Mariah upgraded the ring herself? Or was Nick Cannon somehow able to get ANOTHER super expensive diamond ring?


Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's whirlwind romance took an official turn when the singer obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

According to marriage requirements for the Bahamas, a couple must be in the country for at least 48 hours, be over the age of 16 and have obtained a valid marriage license within 90 days, explains Monique Gomez, a Bahamian attorney in Nassau who specializes in family law.

The source says that Carey did obtain a license in Eleuthera within that time period. And clarifies Gomez, "The minister would make sure [the license] goes into the registry. It's still a valid marriage even if it's not filed. Anywhere in the world."

The New York Post reported that the nuptials took place at Carey's private estate off Eleuthera. Carey owns an estate on Windermere Island, which is an exclusive Bahamian island where the British royals vacation.

Though there has been no official confirmation of the wedding, Linda Cannon revealed, "He called and told us all about it."

After dating less than two months, Carey, 39, and Cannon, 27, got hitched in an impromptu island ceremony. This wasn't the first whirlwind courtship for Cannon, who proposed to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year after just four months of dating. (The pair split last October.)

A source close to Ebanks – who received a 12-carat diamond ring from Jacob & Co jewelers, similar to the 17-carat Jacob bauble Carey is sporting – says the model "really is not affected by it. Diva Premiere for Mariah

While I think it's so gross that someone actually gave Mariah another movie role, this piece from Page Six is so dishy I couldn't resist sharing it with you!

On the walk-in, when she dropped her sunglasses on the red carpet, she quickly turned her back to the wall of photographers until she'd slipped them back on. Then she was escorted inside through a back door, but it still took her 30 minutes to make her way to her table, where Zoe Kravitz and Ben Kingsley were waiting to congratulate her. Carey's new beau, Nick Cannon, showed up soon after. "He bailed on his own premiere to be here," said our spy. "He didn't do any press for his film, 'Ball Don't Lie,' and came to see Mariah." On Friday at the lounge, William H. Macy played temporary doorman, letting in two party crashers by pretending they were pals. Mariah Carey week. Remember when Mariah went nutso? And she's comeback! There's hope for Britney. I mean...Brit went crazier and she's clearly less talented than Mariah, but you know what? I think she's a hell of alot more likeable than Mariah.

David Archuleta - Eeek, leather pants! Am I the only one who doesn't just love this kid? Ok, but a bad song choice IMO. But the judges loved it. Guess I'm wrong!

Carly Smithson - I hope she does well tonight. I like it! I think she chose a good song for her! All in all, I liked it - but wasn't blown away. Judges weren't either. I like how they STILL think she has it in her to blow us away, tho.

Syesha - She looks pretty. I like her dress. Good song choice for her and she's doing a good job. I still stick to my "no charisma" opinion, though.

Brooke White - "Hero." I love this song. I think she's doing a good job! She's so much more comfortable behind the piano, isn't she? I also think she looks really pretty tonight, too.

Kristy Lee Cook - Again, she looks pretty tonight. WTF?! She has really gotten better. I wanted her gone, gone, gone for weeks and now....I dunno. She's kind of growing on me. Next American Idol? No, but she's not a joke in the competition.

David Cook - Ok, I'll admit it, ya'll. I love him now. He's my fave in the competition. I loved it. Best of the night so far. Hands down. I heard David's brother was in the audience tonight. I think that's why he's crying. Ok....I love him. I'm teary!!!! I think this is our next American Idol, folks.
