Angelina Downplays Oscar Buzz

Angelina Jolie better downplay any shot at a Best Actress Oscar nod for her performance in Clint Eastwood's, The Changeling. Even if the Academy is woo'd by the Brangelina machine and gives her a nomination, she will not WIN an award. Her portrayal of Christine Collins is ok, but throughout the entire movie I never forgot I was watching Angelina Jolie. I felt the same way about her portrayal of Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart. I'd like to see Angie go back to playing edgier characters like Gia Carangi or (the Oscar winning) Lisa in Girl, Interrupted .

Angelina Jolie isn't fazed by the Oscar buzz surrounding her stirring performance as a desperate mother in The Changeling.

The actress, 33, is hotly-tipped to win her second Academy Award following her portrayal of real-life mother Christine Collins and her battle to find her abducted child.

But Jolie insists everyone deserves the credit.

She says, "I just prefer to focus on that as a mark that everyone on this movie did a good job.

"Clint Eastwood is an amazing director and he put together a great team so I think he deserves the credit."

I think i can safely speak for the men of the earth (and likely many women) that we'd gladly shell out $10 to see Angelina in a remake of Gia.

Or even perhaps a director's cut of the original?

I haven't seen the movie, but I understand what you're talking about. I just watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith again the other nite...*snooze*...yeah, I was bored!
