Opening Ceremonies

So tired I can barely speak. It's almost 2am in Beijing and I had to send my kids an email. In "mommy-speak" this is what we've seen so far. I'll elaborate tomorrow! I was hoping to post a video for you, but it's not uploading. Instead I'll show you our self-portrait from just outside the Bird's Nest.

Dear Jake & Sammy,

Wow! We just got home from the Opening Ceremonies of The Olympics. It was the neatest thing Daddy and I have ever, ever seen!! They had so many boys and girls performing - thousands! Too many to count! They danced, sang and played drums. There were fireworks going off all over the city - Maisy would have been so scared! But you guys would have thought they were the coolest things you've ever seen.

We bought presents today and tomorrow we're going to do lots more sightseeing. Everytime we see something neat Daddy and I say, "We're going to bring Jake & Sam to China someday so they can see this!" The people are so nice and even though we don't speak the same language - everyone smiles at eachother and it makes you feel good.

We miss you tons and can't wait to come home to tell you about everything we've seen. But most of all we can't wait to give you a MILLION hugs and kisses.
