I keep thinking about how to adequately describe my experience in China for you guys. First of all, I experienced "China Lite." The government asked (demanded) its citizens to not smoke in public, no spitting in public, no garlic breath. Traffic was a breeze because the number of cars allowed on the road was severely limited, therefore while there was definitely still smog - it wasn't nearly as bad as you'd imagine. Cab drivers were friendly, drove with their hands at 10 and 2 the whole time. Almost every service worker we met spoke SOME English - even if it was just please and thank you. So, yeah - I know what I experienced isn't exactly what China is like.
However, some things just can't be faked. The Chinese people were SO proud to host The Olympics and were happy to welcome the world to their home. I felt like I was witnessing history by being there.
So that's it - if anyone wants more on my trip - email me! I'm going to leave you with my fave sign from the trip and my fave video. Check back this afternoon for celeb gossip!
This sign reads: May we remind you. Please be self-restraint and be a good tourist to mold a well-mannered imagination.
I'm going to frame this for Jake & Sammy and put it in their rooms. lol I think it's a good mantra.
xoxo
