So, by now I'm sure you've heard Amy Winehouse has emphesyma. And while her dad says in this story that she seems "resolute" about changing her life, when she was released from the hospital yesterday guess what she was doing? Smoking!
It really is sad that such a great talent seems so hell-bent on killing herself.
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has emphysema - an incurable lung disease that leaves sufferers short of breath, her father said in an interview yesterday.
"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," said Mitch Winehouse.
He said the disease was in its early stages.
"With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes, her lungs are all gunked up. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She's got 70 percent lung capacity," he said.
He said his 24-year-old daughter "seems resolute" about staying clean.

That is HORRIBLY sad!
And she is SO young! So, it goes to show that it can happen to anyone at any age and money, fame and success is not the root of happiness!
Smoking is not worth it! ;)
