Oscar Roundtable: Blah, Blah, Blah

In between running here and there today I've been watching Newsweek's Oscars Roundtable discussion with Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr, Frank Langella, Sally Hawkins and Mickey Rourke. If you have the time to spend you must watch it. Talk about self-important and pukey! But seriously, I loved it. I LOVE actors and how important their work is. And who am I to disagree? I love all of this sh*t!

Can you believe that Mickey Rourke actually seems the LEAST self-righteous?! Well, not including Sally Hawkins, God love 'er.

Iron Man: RDJ

I know he's been "back" for awhile now, but not like this. And you know...I just love a comeback! Especially when it's a Boyfriend. Yay RDJ! And YAY "Iron Man." I LOVED it. Honestly, I saw it by myself and it was all I could do to not jump up and start cheering at the end!

AFTER an incredible, $201 million worldwide opening weekend for "Iron Man," Paramount president Brad Grey wants to lock up "Iron Man 2" - and isn't above overt shmoozing. Earlier this week, Grey took Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel, Robert Downey Jr., Downey's wife, Susan, and co-star and director Jon Favreau to Mr. Chow in LA. At the dinner, Grey gave a five-minute speech/tribute to Downey and said, "As much as I admire [Downey] for the job he did in the film as an actor, the true Iron Man is [Downey] in his real life. He persevered and righted his life after some rough and trying years." That and a heftier paycheck should seal the deal.

I first fell in love with RDJ when he was in Weird Science as one of the jerks. I only fell harder when I saw "Less Than Zero." Then I LOVED the movie "1969." Have you seen it?! If not, rent it.

I loved him even harder for some weird reason thru all of his drug stuff.

And now after seeing Iron Man....really, he's my #1. I hope I dream about him tonight.

Celeb Sighting!

My BFF's, Ellie and Cloud had a good celeb sighting last night! Here's what Ellie says:


Cloud and I were at a comedy show tonight and Robert Downey Jr. was there! He was right behind us walking in, and then he sat right behind us during the show. He looked amazingly good. I don't know if he's getting nightly chemical peels or what, but his skin was as dewy and fresh as a milkmaid's. He was practically glowing with health. He seemed to be enjoying himself as well. I guess years of drug abuse and a stint in prison can have a regenerative effect!
