Have you seen The View lately? I feel like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster watching it. I get so mad at Elisabeth, then I cringe with embarrassment over something Barbara does, I nod in agreement with something Whoopi says feeling calmed momentarily and then Joy says something sarcastic and gets Elisabeth all riled up again and the process starts over.
Tensions on the set are running high, but I guess the rumors that Elisabeth is leaving are just that. For now.
ELISABETH Hasselbeck is shooting down rumors she's set to leave The View for a position at the Fox News Channel.
Speculation that Hasselbeck -- whose Republican leanings have been clearly on display during the election season -- was preparing to leave the daytime chatfest has been rife in recent weeks, as the co-host engaged in increasingly heated debates with her more liberal-leaning counterparts on the show.
But Hasselbeck insists she's staying put.
A statement from her agent, Babette Perry, reads, "While Elisabeth has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View.
"Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations."
Karl Nilsson, Executive Publicity Director for The View, adds, "Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, executive producers of The View, consider Elisabeth to be vital to the program."

Elisabeth is like a breath of fresh air on that show! IMHO
I can't Elisabeth! I do give her credit for standing up for her belifs though even if I don't agree with her.

She just comes off as whiny most of the time to me. I do like her for the most part. I do love that she does stand up for what she believes in. I just wish she wasn't so whiny about it.
I don't mind her, without her the show may prove boring. I mean, don't a lot of people watch for the fireworks at the beginning?
They ALL get annoying to me because they talk over each other, Elisabeth is really bad about this, but she's also one against 3, and two of them are very outspoken.
The one I can't stand most of the time is Joy, although she makes good points about things and I agree with her sometimes. I've just seen her be very nasty to guests and it turns me off.
If Elisabeth does leave though I don't really care. I forget to watch it anyways, lol.
I agree with you about Barbara though for sure.
It's nice to have a conservative representative in the overwhelmingly liberal media. It's only fair to represent both sides.
I watch every day - I love The View. The only ones who bug me are Joy because she is so sarcastic sometimes and Barbara seems to be getting really, um, is flightly a nice way to put it? She is definitely losing her edge. I never knew how smart Whoopi was before she started on the show; I'm really impressed with her thinking. She had a great solution to the bank buyouts too. She's a smart lady!

The problem is in the media unless you are completely liberal you're considered a whiney, dumb bimbo whose opinions are neither worthy or airtime nor tolerated. Bias anyone? I call hypocrisy here.
Regardless of her political tendencies there exists a need for tension of some kind. If all of these women got along perfectly it would be a tepid boring show. It still is, but at least there's SOMETHING happening.

The View is not intended for only one perspective; so, it is understood that their will be a variety of opinions. However, Elisabeth goes overboard and I find her increasingly annoying. She constantly "over-talks" and interrupts; her attitude is off-putting. She is good at holding her own, but she alone has caused me to rethink watching the show. I came thisclose to turning the channel after Rosie left. She is rude and over states her known positions!
