Axl To Release "Chinese Democracy?"

I'm almost afraid for Axl Rose to release his much anticipated "Chinese Democracy." But I really love the fact that Dr. Pepper is so excuted about it!

AXL Rose finally caved under pressure from Dr Pepper. In March, Page Six reported the soda brand's promise to give everyone in America a free can if Guns N' Roses would release its album "Chinese Democracy" in 2008. Rose responded he looked forward to sharing his pop with guitarist Buckethead. Fans, too, should be ready to drink up, because Billboard.com reports the album, in the works for 15 years, will drop Nov. 23. Tony Jacobs, VP of marketing for Dr Pepper, told Page Six, "If the rumors are true, we're putting the Dr Pepper on ice."

Chinese Democracy is such a longstanding joke in the music industry. What I've heard of it is ok, but I was never a huge GNR fan. There was a hidden picture of a sign in the Nine Inch Nails recording area that said Chinese Democracy on it, a small aside crack that on again-off again-on again guitarist Robin Finck was playing for Axl for a couple years. But if the Dr. Pepper deal pulls through I'd be stoked. I'd relent and drink a soda just for that. Like I need an excuse to imbibe Dr. Pepper.
