Stuff I Think Is Funny

It's hard for me to describe what I find funny. As a kid I hardly ever laughed out loud while watching tv. The first time I ever remember belly-laughing at something was an episode of "Family Ties" where Skippy finds out he's adopted and insists that the Keaton family call him "by my given name, Baby Boy Doe." I thought it was HILARIOUS. Until a couple of days ago the funniest thing I had seen in a long time was Anna Faris in The House Bunny. When she uses that Exorcist-inspired voice to "remember names" it killed me. Everytime. And believe me, it was used several times during the movie.

The other day I was checking out one of my fave sites, Dooce.com and ran across this video. I watched it the first time a bit transfixed. I'm pretty sure my mouth was hanging open and I had a look on my face like, "huh?" But I couldn't get it out of my mind. I found myself watching it again. And then again. And now I just have to THINK about it and it makes me laugh. I know you're not all going to "get it." Hell, I don't get it at all - I just can't help but laugh really, really hard just thinking about it!

I can't watch it right now, but I will when I get home.

Now I'm really trying to think about what really made me laugh.

Seriously, I don't get it. The first time I watched it, I was like, "wtf? this isn't funny." Let it sit a day or two....if you're weird like me, you're going to think about it again. The first time I thought about it I was like, "what WAS that and why am I so distubed by that guy's teeth?" Next time I was like, "Who's Spencer?" And by about the third time thinking of it I was dying laughing...

I know, for the most part, it's just me. Even my husband doesn't get why I think this is funny.

so... let me say that I watched this and it seemed so familiar... then I watched the credits and saw Neil Cicierega. Lemon Demon, a quite talented young musician in the vein of They Might Be Giants. I'm a big fan.

Just you wait. If we ever meet up the first thing I'll say to you is "I'm a furious magician, Spencer." If I remember.
