Jordin Sparks: No Regrets

I kind of wanted to slap Jordin Sparks when she "defended" the Jonas Brothers at Sunday's VMA's. I was so embarrassed for her...

Jordin Sparks doesn't regret snapping at MTV Video Music Awards host Russell Brand for mocking the Jonas Brothers' pledge to remain virgins until marriage, a pal of the American Idol winner has said.

Brand, a former heroin addict, sex addict and alcoholic, took to the stage Sunday and declared the famous siblings are a "little bit ungrateful" because "they could literally have sex with any woman they want."

He added, "They're just not going to do it. That is like Superman just deciding not to fly and to go everywhere on a bus."

Sparks furiously responded, "Not everybody -- guy or girl -- wants to be a slut."

The pal tells Fox News' Pop Tarts column, "It got to a point where she was so peeved she couldn't take it anymore.

"Jordin felt very strongly the issue needed to be addressed and has no regrets saying what she said."

Reps for Sparks and Brand did not respond to requests for comment.

He was a comedian doing his bit. She needs to get laid if she can't take a joke!

He was annoying me too, and I guess good for her... but at the same time I was gringing! THe guy standing next to her was obviously embarrassed. I don't know, I think there is a better place and time to make your point, it just sounded unprepaired and so last minute and it just didn't sound very intelligent.

While I'm glad that she made her point, I don't think the time and place were exactly appropriate. Maybe she could have made her statement at one of the after parties?

Why does everyone in this country spend so much time and effort being "offended"?

If you don't agree with someone, then just quietly deride them either behind their backs or to their face.

This false and put on hand wringing is just tired.
