Jessica Simpson "Not Important"

Did someone decide this is "Humility Week" in Hollywood? First Jennifer Aniston doesn't understand why people are interested in her life and now Jessica Simpson proclaims that she's not that important. I hate public humility in my celebs. It's so transparent: "Like me! Like me!"

Jessica Simpson says she's not as important as the media makes her out to be.

The singer -- who is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo -- finds it "disheartening" that the press makes things up about her, and believes she gets more attention than she actually deserves.

The star, 28, tells US TV show Extra, "It's really disheartening in a way how the media can control somebody's perspective on someone else's life.

"It's really sad how people want to believe the worst. I'm really not as important as people make me out to be."

And Jessica -- whose new album, Do You Know, hits stores today -- insists she will continue to support her beau and his football team, despite Cowboy's fans blaming Romo's relationship with Simpson for the squad's less than stellar season last year.

She said, "I won't be wearing the jersey to the game, but I have been there and definitely going to support the Cowboys all the way."
