Mayer "Immature"

Oh, this Mayer-Aniston split is getting nasty! As I predicted, the retaliation for John's comment that *he* ended the relationship has begun. While friends of the former Mrs. Pitt are saying she'll remain dignified, they are dishing away! Apparently, John has cobwebs in his wallet and made Jen pay for everything! Cheap bastard. lmao

John Mayer has been called "immature" for talking to the media about his split from Jennifer Aniston.

John, 30, explained his version of the breakup to a magazine reporter, who quickly posted online that Mayer did the dumping. "I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right," Mayer told the reporter.

Lee Kane, author of How to Be a Professional Bachelor, says that the No Such Thing hitmaker made the comments because "It's a pride and ego thing," adding, "I think it makes him temporarily feel better. He's either hurt or has gotten hurt — otherwise he wouldn't have gone out of his way in talking to the media."

Mayer has habit about dishing on his exes. He joked about his sex life with Jennifer Love Hewitt after they split, and later apolgized.

And, following his split from Jessica Simpson, he blogged a letter to an "ex lover," writing, "perhaps you didn't understand the last time I told you to stop contacting me." (The post only fueled Internet speculation that he was referring to Simpson; he later said he wasn't.)

Kane tells Us Weekly magazine that while it's "immature talking about his conquests," it has to do with "the dominant male psyche.

"He wants to feel that he's in charge and that he's making all the decisions," Kane explains.

Aniston's friends weren't best pleased by John's comments, either. "Jen will never kiss and tell, but it's she who ended the relationship," the pal told MSNBC's Courtney Hazlett.

"(Mayer's) childish behavior only confirms she was right to dump him. Now he’s acting like a spoiled child. Expect Jen to behave like a lady.

"He has a relationship with certain paparazzi (and) bloggers.

"He tips them off. He loves the attention. Jen didn't want to believe it was happening, but it was, and she has no tolerance for that.”

Another source adds that the couple's relationship came under strain because "Jen was tired of paying for everything.

"Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer's) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. ... Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her."
