I don't know if I believe Lindsay is bombarding Michael Phelps with texts begging for a date. Do you??

Am I the only person on the face of the earth who is NOT excited Phelps is hosting SNL?! Blech! I HATE it when athletes host! They're rarely funny and most of the time they just make me uncomfortable. Seriously. I'm not watching. Tell me about it.

Lindsay Lohan is "bombarding" Olympic champion Michael Phelps with calls and texts begging for a date, according to a report today from Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

The hunky swimmer is said to have received several calls from the Mean Girls actress as he sat with friends in a hotel in London on Tuesday.

And he was seen showing pals some of her texts while declaring, "It's Lindsay. It's Lindsay."

Lindsay -- who is rumored to be in a relationship with her gay DJ gal pal Samantha Ronson -- first started messaging 23-year-old Phelps more than two weeks ago while he was in Beijing picking up eight gold metals.

But after Lohan got no response she has hardly stopped ringing. During his London visit, Phelps was glued to his phone.

A source said, "At first he thought it was a joke when she got in touch.

"But she's since been phoning and texting constantly.

"It's become a running joke in his camp. Lindsay has been trying to meet up with him. They're both going to the MTV Video Music Awards next month so they'll be sure to see each other properly then.

"Phelps is certainly flattered by all the attention but it's not clear how seriously he's taking it all."

Meanwhile, Lindsay, 22, has been attacking her dad Michael for saying her "close friend" Ronson, 31, was "using my daughter".

Lohan described herself as "drug free" on her blog and wrote yesterday that her dad "has become a bully to my family, my friends and to a girl that means the world to me".
