I don't know if I really believe that Britney hasn't been in the studio. There have been several comments throughout the summer from people who are working with her and they have all said she's hard at work. However, you never can tell how "the spin" works...
JIVE executives are working overtime to get Britney Spears to record her new album. Earlier this week, they released pictures of Spears and manager Larry Rudolph leaving a music studio, and said in a statement that she's "spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand-new album." But one music industry heavyweight said, "Britney wants to focus on her TV and movie career right now. Jive and Larry are having trouble getting her to record, so they forced her hand with the statement and photo releases."
