If Heather Ledger's family are really a bunch of jerks - I don't ever want to know about it! Publicly I think they've handled the tragedy of their son's death with such dignity and kindness - even towards the press. In all of the pics I see of Michelle with his family, she seems to be genuinely close with them. I hope the picture I have in my mind is close to the truth.
Heath Ledger's relatives said Saturday they will make sure his daughter and the girl's mother are "taken care of," even though the actor's will doesn't mention them, People.com reported.
A day after the Daily News revealed details of the "Brokeback Mountain" hunk's will, Ledger's father, Kim, said the family would stand by Heath's former girlfriend, actress Michelle Williams, and their 2- year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.
"Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family," Kim Ledger said. "They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it to be."
Heath Ledger's will was filed in Australia in April 2003, before he started dating Williams and before his Oscar nomination for his role as a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain."
The document leaves everything to his father, mother and sister.

I was really hoping this would be the case when I heard the news that he hadn't changed his will. Everything should be about Matilda now and I hope it stays that way.
